Already have folders organized on your computer that you would like to upload to Blackboard? You can upload multiple files at once!

You can add files and folders to your Content Collection in multiple ways, including when you create course content. You can upload a single file, multiple files, or one or more folders to your Content Collection. The contents of folders will be uploaded and appear individually in the upload list, After you upload, you can move them to other folders as needed.

Upload files and folders into your Content Collection, either one at a time or in batches, using the browse function.

  1. Go to the Content Collection folder where you want to upload the files.
  2. Point to Upload and select Upload Files or Upload Zip Files.
  3. If you choose to Upload Files you can select multiple files at once after you click Browse My Computer. To select multiple files and folders in a list on a Windows machine, press the Shift key and select the first and last items. To select files and folders out of sequence, press the Ctrl key and select each item. If you’re using a Mac, use the Command key instead of the Ctrl key.
  4. The files and folders appear in the upload box. To delete a file in the list, click Do Not Attach. The contents of folders will be uploaded and appear individually in the upload list.
  5. Select Submit. A status bar displays the progress of the upload. Remember that if you are uploading large files this may take a minute!

 

Upload files from your computer when creating content with Browse My Computer.

  1. Go to the area of the course where you would like students to access the material.
  2. Point to Build Content and choose Item or Document Package
    • If you choose to upload multiple files within an Item you will click on Browse My Computer and select multiple files. To select multiple files and folders in a list on a Windows machine, press the Shift key and select the first and last items. To select files and folders out of sequence, press the Ctrl key and select each item. If you’re using a Mac, use the Command key instead of the Ctrl key.
    • Uploading using Document Package allows you to upload a Zip folder that Blackboard will unzip and separate into individual items.
  3. The files and folders appear in the upload box. To delete a file in the list, click Do Not Attach. The contents of folders will be uploaded and appear individually in the upload list.
  4. Select Submit. A status bar displays the progress of the upload. Remember that if you are uploading large files this may take a minute!
