Want to allow people that you’re inviting to events to easily add the event to their calendar even if they aren’t using Outlook? There is an option to include an Internet calendar (iCalendar) attachment that lets them add the event to their calendar of choice.

When sending an email to invite people to an event or to confirm their registration for an event you have the option to include an Internet calendar (iCalendar) attachment or a link to an iCalendar file can be added to the email message. When the email attachment is opened or the file link is clicked the event will be added to the recipient’s calendar.

This is useful for people who might want to add events to their calendars in addition to those that use email programs other than Outlook such as Apple’s iCal and Google Calendar.
