If your students are like most of us, they need reminders! A great way to keep them on track is a slide at the beginning of class that lays out assignments, what’s coming up next, and adds any necessary prompts to get them started that day in class.

Managing content in a Blackboard course can be time consuming. If you are teaching multiple sections at the same time it can really add to the administration of courses. Luckily there are a few tools and tips that can help ease this administrative burden.

Sometimes we need to double check that we assigned a due date for an assignment, gave the correct point values for a quiz, or even that all of our categories are correct for grade calculations. If we have many columns in the grade center this is sometimes difficult to view quickly. One way to see the full grade center and all of the columns, point values, categories, and due dates is to go into “Column Organization.”

Want to allow people that you’re inviting to events to easily add the event to their calendar even if they aren’t using Outlook? There is an option to include an Internet calendar (iCalendar) attachment that lets them add the event to their calendar of choice.
