Entering grades is slightly different for trainers who teach Professional Workforce Development (PWD) courses with Global Campus.
When a student is completely finished with their course work, the trainer will enter their final grade into the Final Grade column in Blackboard. This will trigger the system that creates automatic certificates and emails them directly to the student who has completed the course. Similarly, if the student did not pass the course, they will receive an automatically generated message stating that they did not complete with a passing grade when the trainer enters a grade which is below passing.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The student will receive no notification if the final grade remains empty. For that reason, it’s important to enter final grades by the last day of class.
The first entry in the gradebook, the Overall Grade, is triggered from the Final Grade column.
The empty circle or ‘pill’ with a dash means the course is in progress and a final grade has not been entered.
The red pill with Incomplete means they have received a failing grade for the course.
The green pill with Complete means they have completed the course successfully.
How to Enter Grades
- Log into Blackboard.
- Click Courses.

- Click on the course where you’ll be grading.
- Click Gradebook.

- Click Grades if you are not already in the grades view.

- Scroll to the right until you see the Final Grade column and enter the grades for the student(s) who have completed the course.

Once you have entered the grades, the students will receive notification and if they have passed they will receive the certificate for the course.
