While Blackboard has many tools for students to use to interact, Microsoft Teams has many additional features for students that make collaborating easier. Teams is a way that students can collaborate with classmates to work on group projects. They can chat, share files, edit files in real-time together, have web conferencing or calls without sharing phone numbers, and create to-do lists.
You can send students Bb Help instructions on creating a Microsoft Team so students can learn how they can use this resource!
Watch the video below to see how they can use Teams!
For Instructors who create and manage the Teams:
- You can add students and channels and also manage the groups in Teams if you set them up.
- It is recommended that only class members are added to the Team as adding non-class members could be a potential FERPA violation.
- It is recommended that you delete or archive the Team once the course is completed.
- Note that if you remove students or delete teams at the end of the semester, it will revoke the student’s access to the files stored there. You may want to remind them to save any documents they create to their computers.
- Additionally, it is recommended that you remove students from Teams who have dropped the course.
