With more and more Mac users on campus, students often submit Apple Pages documents into assignments on Blackboard which are not viewable inline, cannot be parsed through our plagiarism detection tool, and many instructors who use a PC cannot open them. There is a quick and easy way for students to save pages files as word documents and other file types that are more accessible.

Converting a Pages file to a Word document (or PDF)

  1. Open the Pages document you wish to convert.
  2. Click File
  3. Click Export To
  4. Click the file type you wish to save as, in this case Word…

Note: You may need to include the extension (i.e. .docx or .pdf) because earlier versions of Pages did not automatically add it to the file name.
