What is ProctorU?

ProctorU is an online test proctoring service that allows exams to be taken online without the necessity of coming to the University or other test-taking location while still maintaining the security of the exam.  ProctorU is only available for courses that are offered 100% online.

ProctorU Account Sign In (SSO)

ProctorU single-sign on allows you to use your UARK email address and password to sign in without creating a separate account.

1. To sign in, go to https://www.proctoru.com/ and click on User Login (or go directly to https://go.proctoru.com/session/new)

2. Click on Login with Single Sign-on

3. Select University of Arkansas from the drop down and click Sign In

If you have an existing ProctorU account, you’ll be asked to link the two accounts.  Enter your existing username and password for ProctorU and click Link to this account.

Please note:  New instructors may need to email gproctor@uark.edu to get your account set up with the instructor role.

Online Exam Proctoring with ProctorU

For your convenience, this course will utilize the ProctorU platform to proctor your online exams.

What is ProctorU?

ProctorU is a platform that has partnered with your institution to help you take an exam online while ensuring that academic integrity is upheld. Using this platform allows you the convenience of testing from home 24/7, 365 days a year.

Using ProctorU

Instructions for using ProctorU can be found in the BbHelp article ProctorU for Students.  It is important that you close all other programs before accessing ProctorU to take your exam.  This includes any virtual machine software that might be running on your computer.  Examples of virtual machines are Parallels for Mac, Virtual Box, Hyper-V, and VM Ware.

Do you have any testing accommodations?

The ProctorU platform is fully ADA-compliant. If you require special testing accommodations, I will need to let ProctorU know. Please work with me prior to your exam to make sure your accommodations are noted in their system.

Does it negatively interfere with my computer?

ProctorU does not permanently impact your computer in any way. You will be able to see everything your proctor is doing while you are connected. Once your exam is over and you have closed out of your chat session and video page with ProctorU, it completely removes the screen-sharing client from your computer. You may also uninstall the Guardian Browser after each exam session if you choose to do so.

Does ProctorU breach my privacy rights?

Absolutely not! ProctorU takes your privacy very seriously. They stringently adhere to all Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines. No student information can be shared without your direct approval. High Volume Dates

High volume dates are identified by ProctorU as those dates that have many tests scheduled and may be difficult for test-takers to find a time.  Consider choosing a different date or lengthening your test window on these dates.
