Kaltura: Playlists in Blackboard Learn Original

You can create playlists in Kaltura to more easily share content with your students!

You can add playlists in two ways. You can add a link in the left menu to playlists or you can add a playlist to an item.

To add a playlist to the left menu:

1. In your course, click the + at the top of the left main menu.
   
2. Give the link a name, example – Course Videos.
3. Select Kaltura Media Gallery from the list.
   
4. Check the box to Make Available to Students.
   
5. Click the link in the Left Menu, it should appear at the bottom of the list. You can move this by clicking the double arrow to the left and dragging it where you want it to go in the list.
6. Click on the Channel Actions button in the upper right-hand corner.
   
7. Click Edit.
   
8. Click Playlists.
   
9. Click Create Channel Playlist.
   
10. Fill out the title and description and then click Create.
    
11. Click the + buttons to add videos to the Playlist.  You can drag the videos up and down to change their position in the list. They save to the playlist automatically. Click the + to remove them.
    
12. Click Go To Media Gallery.
    
13. Click Save.

If you want to add a playlist to a content item you can

1. Go to the content area in the course where you want the playlist.
2. Click Build Content.
3. Click Item.
   
4. Name the item and click the + to add content.
   
5. Click Kaltura Media.
   
6. Click Media Gallery Playlists.
   
7. Click Embed next to the playlist.
8. Click Submit.

TIPS TIP: It’s important when using Kaltura videos and playlists as well as other video types to only put one video or playlist into a content piece in blackboard.  If you put more than one in then problems can arise.
