It can be useful at times to create a slideshow of images as a video for your classes. There are several really easy ways to make that happen.
Tips for Creating Effective Videos
- Keep it short and target your learning goals. If you have several goals you want to cover, then it is best to break them up into multiple videos.
- Use audio and visual elements to convey appropriate parts of an explanation; make them complementary rather than redundant.
- Use signaling to highlight important ideas or concepts. This means pulling out the most important phrases in what you’re saying and displaying them visually to emphasize their importance.
- Use a conversational, enthusiastic style to enhance engagement.
- Embed videos in the context of active learning by using guiding questions, interactive elements, or associated homework assignments.
- Use a good webcam that has a microphone instead of wearing a headset. Place it just a little above eye level so that you’re looking up at it.
- Remember: It doesn’t have to be perfect.
