Michelle Gray, Associate Professor in Exercise Science, Director of the Exercise Science Research Center and Director of COEHP Honors Program, gave a presentation at the Teaching and Faculty Support Center (TFSC) Winter Symposium titled “Blurred Lines: Where Does the Lab End and the Classroom Begin?.”
In this presentation, she shares her experience in conducting and using research while teaching. This can mean requiring students to participate in the instructor’s research, conducting their own research, or even gathering data for research that is used in the classroom. This helps to introduce students to collaboration, research methods, public speaking, peer mentoring, and many other useful skills. This allows students to understand and interact with the material in a different way and reach students on a different level.
This content was developed from a presentation by Michelle Gray which was sponsored by the The Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center (TFSC) at the University of Arkansas.
