Blackboard Test settings have several different options to choose from and can be confusing as to what the student will see. This article explains what each option allows and what the students will see based on the selected test settings.

No matter what settings you choose in “Test Settings” students will always be able to see their test scores after they complete the test.

To find the “Assessment Results” settings for a quiz or test:

  1. Navigate to the location of the deployed test in your course.
  2. Click the three dots to the right of the test name.
    Click the edit menu
  3. Click Edit.
    Select Edit
  4. Click Test Settings.
    Click Test Settings
  5. Scroll down the page to Assessment Results.
  6. You can choose the options for when students can see the feedback.
    The choices are:
    Submission View: This option is when a student sees their results.
    Submission Options
    Automated Question Feedback: Indicates when feedback will be available if there is any.
    Submission Feedback Options
    Question Scores and Correct Answers:  This option will choose when the student sees their scores or correct answers. You cannot hide question scores if answers are shown and correct answers can only be displayed at the same time or after Question Scores.
    Ultra Question Score Options

Here is what the students will see based on the options above:

Score Only after Submission, View Submission, Feedback, and Correct answers will be released after Due Date.

  1. What the student will see:
    Student Score Only View
  2. All Answers and Feedback after Submission.

    What the student will see. All results are available.
    Click View Submission.

  3. Student Submission:
    They see Question Score, All Answers, Correct Answer, & Feedback

NOTE:  If do not want students to be able to see their scores after submitting their test then be sure to uncheck the box next to Post assessment grades automatically.
