Adding Career Readiness Content into your Course

The UA Career Development Center has curated career-related information, videos and class assignments that can be copied into your class Blackboard site. Seven modules are available to choose from:

  • Write a Resume & Cover Letter: Learn and practice the correct format to write a resume and cover letter for a scholarship, job, club application, internship, graduate program or reference letter.
  • Interview Skills: Learn and practice how to prepare for, complete, and follow-up after a formal interview for a job, internship or professional school admission.
  • Salary Negotiation: Learn how to use an online Cost-of-Living tool and Glassdoor.com to research and compare salaries among various locations and determine an applicants’ value in specific industries.
  • Informational Interview (using RazorLink): Practice active listening, expose yourself to another person’s career and academic experience and develop professional connections with alumni and friends of the university using the UA’s mentoring platform, RazorLink.
  • Career Launch (using LinkedIn & Handshake): Create effective LinkedIn and Handshake profiles and learn to build and enhance an online professional presence.
  • Career Services Scavenger Hunt: Students will learn about all of the career resources and services available to them through the UA Career Development Center’s website. Find assessments, resume templates, major & career path information, skills employers are looking for and job & grad school search tips.
  • College and Career Plan for UP: Use What Can I Do With a Major In… website to explore how academic interests can parlay into different college experiences and prepare for different careers after graduation.

Request Access to Course Modules

Complete this form for instructor access to the template course that contains the modules. Your access will give you the ability to copy the entire course or specific modules or items into your Blackboard course. Please make sure that you are copying the content into your course instead of moving. Module folders contain content items for students and a hidden item that provides quiz questions to import into a test pool or assignment ideas that can be adapted for your course.
